BERRY by WHITING, 1880; Serving Spoon (8 3/8 in); 3 available. Condition is consistent with regular use over many years, but well cared for. The pattern still has good relief. Spoon bowls may have occasional shallow nicks. These pieces were recently auctioned by descendents of the second Governor of Michigan, William Woodbridge who was appointed by President John Quincy Adams to the U.S. Supreme Court of the Michigan Territory after serving as Governor for one year. The old Tiger stadium in Detroit sits on a portion of the land that he once owned. His great-granddaughter, Margaret Woodbridge Presley, won two medals in swimming in the 1920 Olympics.
